Horse Boarding
We offer stall board with ample turnout. Our fourteen 10'x10' and one 10'x20' stalls are matted and bedded for your horse's comfort. Horses are fed hay and grain twice daily and turned out in large pastures with no more than four other horses. Individual paddocks are also available for rehabilitation purposes. Plenty of shade and protection from bad weather is provided by our two shelters and the surrounding forest, but horses will be kept inside on the worst days.
If you'd like to take advantage of our facilities, but keep your horse at another location, we also have non-boarding memberships available.
Riding Lessons & Horse Training
We offer beginner through advanced lessons in multiple disciplines. Our main lesson and training program focuses on hunter/jumpers and eventing. However, lessons in western pleasure, hunt seat and showmanship are also available. Children as young as six are welcome! We have several great trainers available for you to meet all of your training needs. We even have two upper level dressage trainers that visit our stable regularly for boarder lessons and training rides.
Clinics, Camps and Horsemanship Lessons
Clinics of all disciplines are offered throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to refine and further your skills with a deep dive into your riding and your horse's training. Small group camps for kids (ages 6 to 10) are held during school breaks and throughout the summer. Your child can enjoy time with horses, play games, learn new skills and hit the trails. We also offer lessons in horsemanship. Whether you are an adult that needs a refresher, or a child just getting started, it is important to know how to care for your horse and your tack and how to recognize common illnesses and injuries.

About Us
Karner Blue Stables is a small horse farm that provides a family-friendly atmosphere, exceptional care for horses and excellent training in multiple-disciplines while encouraging good horsemanship and enjoyment outside of the ring. The Karner Blue is an endangered species of butterfly native to Michigan. We feel that in the competitive horse industry today, enjoyment of horses has become endangered as well. We encourage our clients to work hard in the ring and then take some time to chase butterflies!
Services We Offer
Our facility is located in the heart of Highland Recreation Area in Oakland County, MI. Twelve miles of equestrian trails can be accessed from our back yard. Our farm is small and is never crowded, but has the same conveniences of the larger farms in the area. Our spacious outdoor and indoor arenas make training a pleasure all year round. Our heated tackroom and indoor observation room provide a place to warm up during the colder months. In the summer, our observation deck and patio can be enjoyed while watching riders in the outdoor arena. Two grooming stalls and the indoor and outdoor wash stalls help make caring for your horse a true pleasure. Continue reading to find out more about our facility and services.
